Accra, gather round. Praaka has called in Ga Mashie’s own Alorman, and the two of them have one simple message for every fine girl who walks into the room like she owns the lease: “Hey Mama.” The single landed on 22 September 2026 as an independent release, and at about two minutes forty-seven seconds it is short, sweet and dangerous for anybody who claims they “don’t really dance.” Charley, your waist go betray you.

Who Is Praaka?

Praaka is a rising Accra Afro-urban artist built on raw energy, bold storytelling and a street-rooted sound. His music keeps returning to hustle, survival and self-belief, the same themes you hear in every trotro conversation between Kaneshie and Circle. And the man has been busy in 2026, oh. Before this one he dropped “Cash Drop,” a dancehall record about grinding until the work finally pays, then kept the conveyor belt moving with cuts like “True Believer,” “Lonely Road,” “Chains,” “Eye Clear,” “Up Again” with Nate Tunez and “My Time.” Consistency is the strategy, and the whole movement now runs under one banner: Praaka Nation.

Enter Alorman

Alorman is the singer-songwriter from Ga Mashie, the old coastal heart of Accra where Jamestown lighthouse watches everything. He mixes those coastal roots with urban Afrobeats and dancehall melodies, and he hit a big milestone in 2022 when he linked up with TEN64MUSIC and released “On God” that same year. Put Praaka’s street fire next to Alorman’s melodic Ga swagger, and you get a proper Accra tag team.

The Vibe

“Hey Mama” is high-energy Afrobeats with playful lyrics, made for dance floors, weekend playlists and that moment at the party when the DJ sees the ladies stand up. At its heart it is a celebration of female confidence, charm and magnetic presence, the kind of woman who does not need to talk before the whole spot turns around. Look at the cover: two guys in loud shirts and mirrored party shades, one pointing a blue cup straight at you. That energy alone tells you this is not a song for sitting down quietly.

Why It Matters Now

Ghana’s new school keeps proving that you do not need a big label budget to make noise. Praaka and Alorman are pushing “Hey Mama” with fun visual content across TikTok, Instagram and X, inviting fans to jump in and create with them. For two hungry Accra voices, this is the kind of feel-good record that can travel from the street corner to the club, one shared clip at a time. Wahala for the friend group who has not learned the dance yet.
