Some reunions arrive with press conferences. This one arrived with a video, two names on the cover, and Accra timelines doing the maths. Ko-Jo Cue and Shaker (also styled Lil Shaker) drop “This Trip,” the lead cut from the two-track single This Trip - Single, out 2 October 2026 via Bantama Blues. About 2:23 of Ghana hip-hop chemistry, produced by Paq. Chale, if you still dey argue whether Cue and Shaker fit together, the beat already settle the case.

Who Are Ko-Jo Cue & Shaker?
Ko-Jo Cue (Linford Kennedy Amankwaa) is the Kumasi-rooted voice who built Bantama mythology into mainstream Ghana rap — from Corolla Music heat through For My Brothers, I’m Back, and the sprawling November 2025 statement KANI: A Bantama Story. Accra readers already caught him trading soft soul with KiKi Celine on “Oh Fear”; this lane is different. Partner-in-crime energy, not guest-feature manners.
Shaker (Elikplim Yao Atiemo) wears two hats: bars and boards. Accra knows the producer who touched Sarkodie classics and the rapper behind “I No Dey See U Saf.” Together they once owned a chapter — Pen & Paper (2017), the Accra–Kumasi handshake that spun “Things We Do 4 Love” with KiDi. “This Trip” is the first time their names sit side by side on a release since that late-2010s stretch. Same pens. Fresh passport stamps.
The Vibe: Short Ride, Long Chemistry
Paq’s production keeps the engine lean — crisp drums, hypnotic pocket, space for both MCs to lean in without fighting the mix. Under two and a half minutes, so the replay tax is basically free. Cue brings the Bantama grit; Shaker answers with that producer-rapper timing that makes every bar feel placed, not poured. Video credit goes to Uncle Fred for Hive Global, with Jephthah Siaw Amponsah on DP — night-out receipts, not a moodboard.
Flip the single and “Seen Dreams” (feat. Titi Owusu) stretches to about 3:38. Shaker produced, mixed and mastered that one himself. Smart split: This Trip is the social-media sprint; Seen Dreams is the longer diary entry. No filler. No committee.
Why It Matters Now
October 2026 Ghana hip-hop is crowded with features and December rehearsal energy. A clean Cue × Shaker joint resets the room. Earlier in 2026 both crossed paths on Hammer’s “Time Machine” with AmakyeTheRapper and Kwaw Kese — someone else’s cover. This time the artwork belongs to them. Pre-save chatter teased a PnP2 / Pen & Paper 2 listening-party scent; nobody has formally announced a sequel album yet, so treat that as a wink, not a billboard. Accra and Kumasi both claim a win when these two share a title. Queue it, send it to the group chat, and let the chemistry finish the argument. Some combinations just make sense.
