Some people collect money. Cubana Chief Priest prints it on his cover art. The celebrity barman, nightlife king and full-time headline magnet has pulled Enugu rap firebrand Evado into the booth for “Go Hard or Go Home,” a motivational Afrosounds single that landed on 2 October 2026. At two minutes fifty-one seconds, it is short enough for your bus stop wait and loud enough to make you rethink that plan you abandoned in January. Charley, the title alone is a sermon.
CP Is Not Joking With This Music Thing
If you thought Chief Priest’s music run was a one-weekend experiment, the man has been quietly building a catalogue. In May 2026 he answered his critics with “BALANCIAGA,” a designer-clad clapback that turned online noise into a street anthem, and he followed it with cuts like “Best” and “Finally” with Spyki, “Venezuela,” “Summer Adina” and “Chibuike.” The hater-to-hit pipeline is officially a business model. Today, “Go Hard or Go Home” sits at the top of his Spotify profile, which tells you where his own energy is right now.
Enter Evado, the ‘New Problem’ From Abakpa
Evado, also known as Evado Lee, is the rapper from Abakpa Nike in Enugu who learned to sing in church before his childhood friend Hugo P pulled him into rap sessions. He started dropping music on Audiomack in 2019, released the Can’t Fold EP in 2020, then went deeper with Drunk in Pain (2023) and Still Drunk in Pain (2024). His 2025 breakout “My Pay” became a street anthem and brought in Phyno for “Ilu Agha.” In short, the Eastern rap pipeline has a new spokesman, and he does not waste bars.
What the Record Feels Like
The production is soft and rhythmic, leaving room for both men to talk to you directly. Chief Priest brings an emotional, almost testimony-style vocal, while Evado answers with sharp, hungry verses that put some pepper on the stew. The message is simple: keep pushing, work smarter, and if you no fit carry the load, go home and rest. Look at the cover: both men in studio headphones, printed onto crisp hundred-dollar bills. Subtle? No. Effective? Very.
Why It Matters Now
Nigerian street-pop is full of flex songs, but this one leans into motivation, the kind of record that plays when somebody opens a shop, signs a contract or finally pays that rent. For Evado, standing next to one of Nigeria’s most talked-about personalities puts his Igbo-flavoured rap in front of a much bigger crowd. For CP, it is proof he wants to be taken seriously as an artist, not just the man who pops the most bottles in the room. Wahala for anybody still sleeping at 10 a.m.
