Every Ghanaian has that one friend who has been "planning" since 2019. Same business idea, same voice note, same "next month by God’s grace". You don’t need another lecture for that person. You need a song that grabs them by the collar, gently, and tells them to get up and go. Chale, the beatmaker who gave the whole country something to thank God with has just made that song — and he called the queen of Ghanaian soul to sing it.

On Friday, 16 October 2026, award-winning Ghanaian producer Khendibeatz released “Move”, a brand-new single with Efya on vocals. It is produced by Khendibeatz himself, released through his own Khendibeatz Slaughter House imprint, and it is the kind of upbeat Afropop record that makes you check your to-do list while your shoulders are still dancing.

⚡ “Move” in 30 Seconds

“Move” is a joint single credited to Khendibeatz & Efya. It runs a tight 2:23, sits in the bright Afropop lane, and carries a motivational message: believe in yourself, stay focused, chase bigger dreams and celebrate every step forward. Khendibeatz handles the production — the cover proudly reads “Produced by Khendibeatz” — while Efya carries the vocals and the songwriting credit under her full government name. The official audio visualizer is live on YouTube, alongside Apple Music, Spotify, Audiomack, Deezer, TIDAL and YouTube Music.

Who Is Khendibeatz?

If you have shouted “Aseda” at a wedding, a church harvest or a Friday night spot in the last two years, you have already met Khendibeatz — you just didn’t know his name. Also styled Khendi Beatz, the Accra-based producer and mixing/mastering engineer won Producer of the Year at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards in 2025 for King Paluta’s “Aseda”, the same record that took Most Popular Song that night. Not small thing.

Since then, the man has refused to rest. He has stayed close to King Paluta, including the Sarkodie-assisted “Give Up and See”, and his catalogue stretches across Strongman, Yaw Tog, Oseikrom Sikanii and more — from drill to hiplife to highlife. In 2024 he gathered a whole squad of rappers — King Paluta, Oseikrom Sikanii, Ypee and more — on the posse cut “ORTEESO”, in January 2026 he dropped “Woso Ma Me” with DJ Mac and Senario, and just last week his fingerprints were all over Kweku Flick and Shatta Wale’s ‘Sweet’. These days he does not just make beats; he runs the whole sound from first idea to final master. On “Move”, he steps from behind the desk and puts his own name on the front of the cover.

Meet Efya: The Voice That Needs No Introduction

Efya is Jane Awindor, born in Kumasi in 1987, choir girl turned national treasure. She first caught Ghana’s attention on the very first season of Stars of the Future in 2006, sang in the duo Irene & Jane, then went solo and turned Best Female Vocal Performance at the Ghana Music Awards into her personal property, winning it four years in a row from 2011 to 2014. “Best in Me”, “Little Things”, “Jorley” with Sarkodie, the Janesis album, and of course “Skin Tight” with Mr Eazi — the song that followed every Ghanaian love story into 2015 and never really left.

2026 has been a busy year for her too. She floated beside Nonso Amadi on Larry Gaaga’s ‘Luvin’, and when MzVee told her own story on ‘Enjoyment’, Efya’s name came up as the sister who stood by her. Efya has always been the one other artists call when a song needs class. This time, a producer called her when a song needed fire.

The Vibe: House Party With a Business Plan

Look at the cover first, because it tells you the mood before the first drum lands. Efya sits in front in a black top, chin resting on her hands, giving the camera that “I have heard your excuses” look. Khendibeatz stands beside her in a black leather jacket with a glittering “KHENDI” chain. Behind them, an illustrated house party is in full swing — red cups up, string lights on, everybody laughing like the DJ just played their song. And right across the front, in big white bubble letters: MOVE.

The record matches that picture. Khendibeatz builds a bright, bouncy groove that keeps the room busy, and Efya rides it with that smoky, confident tone she has spent two decades sharpening. It is a party song, yes, but it is a party song with a business plan — the kind of record you play while getting dressed for an interview, a gig or a hustle you have been dodging for months. Two minutes and twenty-three seconds, no wasted bar, no long goodbye. In and out, like a trotro mate who knows the next stop.

Why “Move” Matters Right Now

Ghana’s producers are no longer just “prod. by” tags at the end of a title. From Kumasi to Accra, the beatmakers are stepping forward with their own singles, their own imprints and their own fanbases. Khendibeatz pulling an artist of Efya’s calibre onto his own record says plenty about how far his name has travelled since “Aseda”. It also shows Efya choosing fresh energy over safe nostalgia, sitting comfortably next to the new Kumasi wave that includes Yaw Tog’s ‘AKATAPIANO’ and King Paluta’s run of features.

Then there is the timing. We are in the last stretch of 2026, when everybody remembers the New Year resolutions they made in January and starts doing calculations. “Move” lands right in that panic window with a simple message: stop standing still, chase the thing, and enjoy the journey while you are at it. Play it for that friend with the 2019 business plan. Then play it for yourself, because, my brother, my sister — you also get some unfinished work.
