Two days before the drop, Keeny Ice posted a warning on X that read like a proverb from an Aflao chief’s palace: “Eagles don’t fly with crows! It’s a BIG LEAGUE SZN.” He tagged one name, Strongman, told everybody to ready their speakers, and promised that the meal was “cooked and ready to serve.” Charley, when a Volta border-town lyricist and a Kumasi punchline machine start talking about eagles, you don’t ask questions. You find your earphones.
The record in question is “3RD EYE”, and it landed on Friday, 16 October 2026 through Cloud9gangs and ONErpm, produced by Nexux Beatz and mixed and mastered by Wakayna. On release morning Keeny Ice’s caption was short and loud: “OUT NOW & LOUD” and “Go feast heavily fam!!!” One week later the feasting is still going, and the YouTube breakdown channels are already pausing the track line by line, arguing about who exactly needed a third eye to be seen.
⚡ The Drop in 30 Seconds
“3RD EYE” is a brand-new 2:33 rap single from Keeny Ice featuring Strongman, released on 16 October 2026 and live on Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, YouTube Music and Deezer. Nexux Beatz handles production, Wakayna mixes and masters, and the song carries an explicit tag, so maybe don’t play it at full volume during family devotion. It is Keeny Ice’s third single in under three weeks, after “KILLSHOT” in late September and “DOOMSDAY” in early October. Ewe and English on one side, Twi bars on the other, and a title that says: we see everything. That is the whole brief.

The Vibe: Eagles Only, Crows Please Wait Outside
In Ghanaian street philosophy, the “third eye” is the one that catches what the other two miss: the friend who smiles in your face and dey count your money behind you, the colleague whose congratulations come with small pepper. Naming a rap song after it is a statement of awareness. Keeny Ice is telling the room he has been watching, and he is bringing a witness who has been watching too.
The pairing is the real attraction. Keeny Ice has built his name rapping mostly in Ewe and Adza, the border language of Aflao, mixed with English, delivering complex rhymes at speed. Strongman, the Kumasi wordsmith, made his reputation with dense Twi punchlines and the kind of confidence that makes battle rappers check their notes twice. Put those two styles over one Nexux Beatz instrumental and you get something Ghana rap does not do often enough: a genuine cross-regional summit, Volta meeting Ashanti without a translator. At two minutes and thirty-three seconds, nobody is wasting bars on long intros. It is lean, tight and built for replay, the kind of record you run back immediately because you are sure you missed a line the first time. And that explicit tag tells you the gloves are not fully on.
No surprise, then, that some fans are treating it like a subliminal. Within days of release, reaction channels were uploading breakdowns asking whether “3RD EYE” is a diss record. Nobody has named a target, and both rappers have kept their captions about feasting rather than fighting. But in Ghana rap, a song about seeing hidden enemies released in a season this competitive will always get the magnifying glass treatment.
The Cover: Point, Pose and a Red City
The artwork does not whisper. Keeny Ice stands front and centre in a black NY cap, dark rectangular shades and a black-and-white tee with a number 16 patch, silver chains on his neck, chunky rings on his fingers and both arms stretched out, one finger pointed straight at you. Strongman stands just behind his shoulder, tall twisted hair, black denim jacket, calm face, one hand throwing up a sign. Behind them, a city skyline glows red like Kejetia at sunset, and the “3RD EYE” title sits above them in bold yellow-orange letters, with a pyramid eye replacing the “D”. Both artists’ logos crown the top. The number 16 on the shirt is a nice touch for a song that dropped on the 16th. Whoever designed this one understood the assignment.
Who Is Keeny Ice?
Keeny Ice, born Barnabas Amu on 11 June 1991, is from Aflao, the busy Volta Region border town that sits right against Lomé. He studied Visual Arts at Three Town Senior High School in Denu, where his school performances made him one of the best-known student artistes in the region. His official debut, “Adam and Eve”, featured the late Castro, and he followed it with “Dance Fever” featuring his mentor Edem, “Hail Mary” and more. In 2019 his collaboration “Ebe God” with Nigerian star Victor AD carried his name beyond Ghana and took him to stages in Delta and Edo States.
At home, the Volta Music Awards made him their favourite son. He won three awards in 2018, then returned in 2019 to take Artiste of the Year, Best Rapper and Best Collaboration for “Ebe God”. His projects include the Border Vibes EP (2021), Sound Check (2022) and ICE COLD (2025), with fan favourites like “FRAZZ” with Chief One and “STEEZE” with Kpese Boii along the way. In 2024 he earned his first Telecel Ghana Music Awards nomination, for Unsung Artiste of the Year. He once explained his language choice with a line every Ghanaian understands: “Birds speak bird language.” Off the mic, he runs the KICA Foundation, which supports creative arts teaching in basic schools.
Why “3RD EYE” Matters Now
Keeny Ice is having the busiest year of his career. Since January he has released “HOZANA”, “MAWUENA”, “Dangerous” and “DZOBOKU”, then went on a sprint with “KILLSHOT” on 28 September, “DOOMSDAY” on 3 October and now “3RD EYE”. That is a rapper knocking on the national door with both fists. Bringing in Strongman is the smartest move in that run, because Strongman’s own 2026 has been relentless. We covered his solo flex “The Statement” in September, his hiplife link-up with Tinny on “Yaanom”, and his faith-and-hustle record with Ayisi, “Everlasting”. His fan base is exactly the national audience Keeny Ice wants to reach.
For Strongman, the trade is just as valuable. A verse next to one of the leading voices of Volta rap gives him a stamp of approval in a region where Keeny Ice’s name opens doors. For Ghana rap as a whole, “3RD EYE” is a reminder that the culture is bigger than the Accra–Kumasi axis. Aflao has bars. Ho has bars. When those bars meet Kumasi heat on one record, the whole map wins. With December approaching and DJs hunting for fresh rap records that still sound like Ghana, this one has a real shot at the rotation.
