More than three decades after Wu-Tang Clan told the whole world that cash rules everything around me, Pheelz has changed one small word and moved the entire sentence to Lagos. Pheelz has dropped Cash Rules Everything Around Us, a brand-new single out 16 October 2026 on his own Rii Collective imprint. From “me” to “us” — chale, that one swap is the whole Naija-Ghana philosophy in four letters: if money land, the whole compound must chop.

And the cover art says it with its chest. No stacks of dollars, no rented Lambo, no man counting notes for camera. Instead, Pheelz serves a candlelit restaurant table: champagne sweating in a silver bucket, a coupe glass with a lipstick kiss on the rim, pearls, a ring, and an open bill folder. Read the receipt well: one good night, one time with my people, one little peace. Thank you. Signed: Rii. Na the most expensive menu in town, and not one item get price tag.

Who Is Pheelz?

Born Phillip Kayode Moses on 5 June 1994, Pheelz is an Ogun State son raised in Ojo, Lagos, who started out as a ten-year-old singer in church. Long before Nigeria knew his voice, it knew his beats. In 2012 he produced Olamide’s “First of All,” and he went on to produce all but one song on Olamide’s Baddest Guy Ever Liveth — meaning his fingerprints are all over the early YBNL era. He won Producer of the Year at the 2020 Headies for Teni’s “Billionaire,” and his credit list stretches across Fireboy DML, Adekunle Gold, Tiwa Savage, Runtown, Lil Kesh and plenty more.

Then 2022 happened. “Finesse” with BNXN went No. 1 on Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 50 and on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart, entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 52 and picked up BPI Silver. Just like that, Pheelz the producer became Pheelz the star — that rare beatmaker who steps from behind the console and nobody asks, “Who be this one?”

A Busy 2026 Behind the Bill

This single does not arrive from a quiet year. A Rii Set, his joint project with Rii, landed on 5 June 2026 — his own birthday, because if you no gift yourself, who go gift you? The live edition, A Rii Set (Live), followed on 28 August. In between, he produced “Constantly” on Davido’s Oriadé album, the record Premium Times described as Davido singing about consistency, survival and success. Add the Peace by Piece EP he shared with Fireboy DML in September 2025, and you see a man who is never far from a studio light.

The Vibe: Money Talk With Table Manners

Wu-Tang’s 1994 classic “C.R.E.A.M.” was a hard dose of New York street reality. Pheelz goes another direction entirely. Early Nigerian reviews describe a sleek, bass-heavy groove with glossy synths and a hook simple enough for a crowd to shout — money talk, but with table manners. The writing credits list four names and none of them is a Wu-Tang member, so take the title as a salute, not a remake. The official visualiser even spells the acronym his own way, C.R.E.A.U., just so nobody go confuse am with the original.

At 2:36, the song is short like a big man’s patience at a slow restaurant: it says what it came to say, then it calls for the bill.

Why It Matters Now

October 2026 is crowded — album rollouts, Detty December warm-ups, everybody and their remix. A solo Pheelz single after a joint-project year is a reminder that the producer-artist lane he opened with “Finesse” is still his to drive. The theme also lands from Accra to Ojo: cost of living dey vex everybody, and here comes a song that admits money rules, then quietly lists what it should actually buy — good nights, your people, small peace. That is not flexing. That is budgeting with vibes.

Cash may rule everything around us. Pheelz just wants to make sure the soundtrack is worth the spend.
