Enugu, hold your heart. Phyno, the Igbo rap general whose bars can scatter a whole cypher, has come out with something soft. His new single “Beautiful,” released on 8 October 2026, is a love letter to the woman who makes everything make sense. When Ezege himself starts rapping tenderly, my brother, somebody’s phone go dey ring “Who sent you this song?” all weekend.

📌 Quick Facts

  • Song: Beautiful
  • Artist: Phyno
  • Released: 8 October 2026
  • Album: Let That Sink In (LTSI), due 30 October 2026
  • Label: Penthauze / MAD Solutions
  • Languages: Igbo, Pidgin and English
  • Length: 3:34

Ezege, the Man Who Made Igbo Rap Mainstream

Born Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, Phyno started out behind the boards as a producer before stepping to the mic and proving that you do not need to switch to English to run Nigerian hip-hop. Through his own Penthauze imprint, he built a catalogue that turned Igbo bars into club anthems: the No Guts No Glory era, “Fada Fada” with Olamide, “Financial Woman” with P-Square, “Ride for You” with Davido, and “Authe” with Flavour. His fifth album, Full Time Job, landed in October 2024, and the man has not taken leave since.

The Vibe: Bars With a Bouquet

“Beautiful” finds the rapper trading his usual hard-knock punchlines for gratitude and devotion. Igbo, Pidgin and English flow together over a warm, melodic beat built for the people you hold close, the kind of record you play on a Sunday evening drive or in the kitchen while your partner pretends not to be blushing. It is smooth, heartfelt and still unmistakably Phyno, because even when he is sweet-talking, the cadence carries that Enugu swagger. The official video, which dropped on his PhynoFino channel, keeps the same easy, romantic energy.

The Road to Let That Sink In

This is not a random drop. “Beautiful” is the latest pre-release from Let That Sink In (LTSI), Phyno’s 15-track album set for 30 October 2026. The run of album singles includes “Uzo Ano” with Flavour back in February, the “Na Afa Nna” freestyle in July, captioned “Road to the album,” and “Healing” in August. Now the love song arrives to show the softer corner of the project. Three weeks to go, and the countdown is officially warm.

Why It Matters Now

Afrobeats love songs are everywhere, but an indigenous rap heavyweight delivering one this convincingly is a reminder that range is the real flex. For the Igbo-speaking diaspora, from Onitsha to London to the Igbo community right here in Accra, “Beautiful” is the wedding-reception and anniversary-caption record of the season. Ladies, if your man sends you this one, just accept it. Gentlemen, learn the hook small.
