Hips don’t lie, and neither does the Friday release calendar. Skiibii, the Lagos showman who has been turning catchphrases into party records for a decade, has pulled Kashcoming and WiiLii into one booth for Shakira, a brand-new three-way single released on Friday, 16 October 2026. Yes, the title is borrowing the name of the Colombian queen of waist work. No, nobody here is asking permission. If your knees are not ready, chale, sit this one out.

The rollout was short and sweet. On Thursday afternoon Skiibii told his followers “SHAKIRA out midnight.” By Friday Kashcoming was posting “Too many bad b in here… #Shakira out now,” while WiiLii shouted the release with “1 BEBENOGODO” — the same “one baby no go do” line Skiibii kept teasing all weekend. Translation for the elders: one babe is simply not enough for these three, and they have made a whole song to defend the position. We are only reporting o.

⚡ The Drop in 30 Seconds

Three voices, one groove, three minutes and twenty-seven seconds. Shakira lands as a single-track release carrying Skiibii’s own More Grace Music World stamp, under exclusive license to Dvpper Digital, with Apple Music filing it under Afrobeats and Audiomack under Afrosounds. It comes with the explicit tag, so maybe not the one for the family WhatsApp group. An official visualizer went up on Skiibii’s YouTube channel on release day, and all three artists are listed as main acts on Spotify and Deezer — no “featuring” small letters here, everybody get im own chair.

Skiibii: The Man Who Came Back From Everything

Born Abbey Elias, Skiibii got his name from an uncle who called him “Omo to Skiibii” — a sharp, smart person. He started as a rapper in secondary school and was signed to KCee’s Five Star Music in December 2014, where “Ah Skiibii” with Olamide gave him his first real noise. Then came the infamous 2015 death hoax that nearly buried his career for real. Most artists would have changed name and relocated to Abuja. Skiibii left Five Star in early 2018, launched More Grace Music World and answered with “Sensima” featuring Reekado Banks — one of the biggest party records of that year.

He never really stopped after that. “Daz How Star Do” brought Falz, Teni and DJ Neptune into one video; “Baddest Boy” grew so big that Davido jumped on the remix in January 2022; and “Abracadabra” with Naira Marley and Rexxie got a Wizkid-assisted remix. More recently he linked Teni again on “Jostimilo,” served “Masterpiece” in October 2025 and kicked off his 2026 run with “No Wam” alongside BhadBoi OML. Ten years in, the man is still chasing the next chorus the whole of Lagos will sing.

Kashcoming and WiiLii: The Tag Team

Kashcoming, born Okekayode Ashiru, first broke through with “Saloo,” which later got a BNXN remix, before his 2023 debut EP On A Low delivered the Amapiano favourite “How Low” — a song so sticky it collected one remix with Zlatan and Rayvanny and another with Seyi Vibez. He has been busy all season too: “Chaser” in August, then “CTRL” with Zaylevelten just weeks ago. If that last name rings a bell, Zaylevelten is the same young man on Cruel Santino’s ‘Big Drop’, which we covered on Saturday — the CTRL connection is right there in that post.

WiiLii is the name to underline. Formerly known as DwillsHarmony, he is a singer who also builds beats — he says FL Studio and Logic have been paying his bills for over ten years. He and Kashcoming already have chemistry on file: the On A Low deluxe, “Valentina” and “Trumpet” all carry both names. As WiiLii, he dropped “Speshal” in September and even had T.I Blaze on his 2025 song “Missing You” — the same T.I Blaze whose ‘Round One (Elle Mummy)’ we covered earlier today. Small world, big hooks.

The Cover: Cubist Drip

The artwork looks like a gallery poster that went to a nightclub. All three men are drawn in sharp geometric shapes of red, cream and deep teal. Kashcoming stands on the left in a checkered cap with a big red sun behind his head; Skiibii takes the centre in dark shades, hand over his mouth, chunky Cuban chain and a red ring catching the light; WiiLii poses shirtless on the right with red-tipped locs, stacked chains and a Calvin Klein waistband peeping out. The title sits in thin lettering at the top, with the three names along the bottom. Clean, cool and very expensive-looking.

Why Shakira Matters Now

The December season is loading, and DJs in Lagos and Accra need records that work in the club and on TikTok at the same time. A Skiibii chorus has always been built for crowds, Kashcoming brings the street-pop bounce he has been sharpening all year, and WiiLii adds a fresh voice that fans are only now discovering. For Skiibii, it is also a smart flex: a veteran opening his door to younger acts instead of locking it. For Kashcoming, it is back-to-back releases inside one month. For WiiLii, it is the biggest platform yet for a name he has been waiting to blow. Everybody wins — except your waist.
