Fuel price dey climb, landlord dey text, and somebody’s boss just scheduled a Friday 5pm meeting. MzVee has heard all your complaints and she has one answer: enjoy yourself. The Accra-born star is out with Enjoyment, a brand-new single released on Friday, 16 October 2026, and she did not come alone. She rolled in with Sista Afia, Sefa and Nigerian storyteller Ugoccie — four women, two countries, one loud reminder that the hustle is not the whole movie.

Four days before release, MzVee summed up the mood on X: “In this economy??? WE MUST ENJOY.” On drop day it was simpler: “If you love enjoyment this song is for you!!!” Chale, she knows her audience.

⚡ The Drop in 30 Seconds

Four voices, one feel-good message: celebrate your wins, recognise how far you have come and actually spend small of the money you are suffering for. Produced by Egar Boi, released through rain. labs, filed under Afro-fusion and running 4:18 — enough room for every queen in the room to take her turn.

What the Song Is Preaching

The message is the kind your auntie would approve and your accountant would fear. According to the release notes, Enjoyment “places life’s simple pleasures at the centre of its message,” pushing listeners to recognise their progress, celebrate their wins and appreciate the rewards of their hard work. Challenges will always come — nobody is denying that — but the song argues you must still make room for happiness along the way. Or, as the release put it, success means little if there is no time to enjoy what comes with it.

In a year where every second post is about cost of living, that is not just a party line. It is self-care with a beat.

The Cover: Pink Means Business

The artwork does not whisper. Four illustrated women stand shoulder to shoulder in matching hot-pink outfits — one rocking a fluffy pink jacket and furry leg warmers — in front of a pink supercar with its doors up. Behind them, a pink city skyline glows while flying cars cruise past, and champagne bottles and speakers sit at their feet. “ENJOYMENT” sits on top in fat, glossy yellow letters. Subtle? No. On brand? Completely.

MzVee: Natural Girl, Grown Woman

Born Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda in Accra, with roots in Keta in the Volta Region, MzVee first appeared in 2012 as lead singer of Lynx Entertainment’s girl group D3. She went solo in 2014 with “Borkor Borkor,” then “Natural Girl” with Stonebwoy turned her into the poster child for natural hair. She won New Artiste of the Year at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards, earned BET nominations in 2015 and 2016, and is widely credited as the first Ghanaian female musician nominated for a major BET Award.

Her story has depth too. She stepped away from music between 2017 and 2019, later revealing she had been battling depression, with Efya standing by her. She came back strong with InVeencible in 2020 and 10 Thirty in 2022, an album that pulled in Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Bella Shmurda, Stonebwoy and Kofi Kinaata. So when MzVee says enjoy your life, she is not reading it from a fridge magnet. She earned that line.

Meet the Squad

Sista Afia, the self-styled Queen Solomon, broke through with “Jeje” featuring Shatta Wale and later linked Kuami Eugene on “Asuoden.” Just last week she dropped the confident “Boss It,” so she arrives on this record already in CEO mode.

Sefa, born Sefadzi Abena Amesu, used to sing with live bands in Accra bars until D-Black spotted her on Instagram. Her “E Choke” with Mr Drew won Afrobeats Song of the Year at the 2022 Ghana Music Awards — on her birthday, no less — and she has been running her career independently since 2024. Fun fact: Sista Afia was already on Sefa’s 2020 debut album Growth, so this reunion has history.

Ugoccie, born Favour Ugochi Anosike in Aba, Abia State, went viral with a freestyle cover of Kizz Daniel’s “One Ticket,” then exploded on TikTok with “Do You Really Like Me?” — good enough for a Rookie of the Year nomination at The Headies 2022. She has worked with Phyno on “Breakfast” and Yemi Alade on “Ogologo,” and her Voice of the East EP carries proud Igbo storytelling.

Why It Matters Now

Four women leading one record is still rarer than it should be in West African pop, where the big posse cuts are usually a boys’ club. Enjoyment flips that script, and it does it across the border — three Ghanaian voices and one Nigerian, with MzVee and Sefa both carrying Volta roots and Ugoccie repping the East. Yemi Alade has worked with both MzVee and Ugoccie, so the Ghana–Naija family tree was already connected. The release post even shouts out a stylist and a choreographer, which tells you the ladies came to move, not just sing.

Ghana Christmas season dey come. Detty December dey come. If your playlist does not have a song telling you to spend small and smile, Enjoyment just applied for the job.
