Some people travel to find themselves. Others travel because light bill don come and they need to disappear small. Singlet has packed his bags for a better reason: the Takoradi voice behind “Playman” and “Yango” is back on the road with a brand-new single called “Traveller”. And judging by the cover, he did not come by trotro. He came in a vintage camper van, with the luggage tied on the roof like a family going to a village funeral with full confidence.
“Traveller” landed on Friday, 30 October 2026, as a self-released single, and it is his first new song since “Lucky” last December. The man went quiet on the release front for most of the year — no rushed drops, no “album coming soon” every Tuesday. Now he has stepped out with one song and a clear message: the journey continues. For a Western Region favourite who has been supplying hooks to Ghanaian music for more than a decade, that is a comeback worth slowing down the car for.
⚡ “Traveller” in 30 Seconds
One song, one artist, no features, just over three minutes long. The stores file it under Afro-fusion, early previews from the Ghanaian press describe it as an introspective highlife-Afrobeats record, and the release announcement credits the beat to HotPower. It is clean, it is solo, and it arrives on the same Friday Sarkodie dropped ‘Cold’ with Olivetheboy. Big Friday for Ghana music, and the Takoradi man refused to sit in the back seat.

Who Is Singlet?
If you grew up on Ghanaian radio in the 2010s, you know this voice even if you did not know the name. Singlet is a singer, songwriter and performer out of Takoradi, the oil city that also gave us Lasmid and his ‘Biggest Nathaniel’ energy. Back in 2015 he was already the confident young man telling the press he was the best talent in Ghana — the kind of statement that makes uncles laugh and then quietly check the song — with early records like “Sumsum Pt. 3”, “By Force” and “The Way You Love Me”, and stories of his music reaching Abossey Okai shops and Kumasi radio before any national promo had even started.
The real lift came through features. He sang on Guru’s “Samba” in 2014 — yes, the same Guru Nkz who just served ‘Yate Woti’ — and in 2016 he was on D-Black’s “Omega” alongside Sarkodie, which is basically a CV in one line. D-Black, by the way, is still dropping heat, from ‘Dancing Machine’ with E.L. Then in 2017 Singlet gave us “Playman”, produced by Beatmonster, a cheeky warning to every guy running three relationships on one phone.
After a long break, he came back in August 2023 with “Yango” featuring Ayesem, produced by WillisBeatz. Since then the singles have been steady: “Rise Up” (2023), “Money Foseto” (2024), “Style Bia Bi”, “If I” and “Lucky” (2025). Not a man in a hurry — a man on a long road trip, stopping at every junction to drop a tune.
The Vibe: One Van, Plenty Luggage
Let us talk about this cover, because it is doing serious storytelling. A red-and-cream vintage camper van is cruising away from us down a winding hillside road. On the roof sits a big woven basket stuffed with colourful bags and suitcases. Green hills on the left, dry golden bushes on the right, distant mountains ahead, and a cloudy blue sky with a pale sun glowing behind the bright yellow, arched “TRAVELLER” lettering, with Singlet’s name written in neat script under it. The whole picture has that worn, old-postcard texture, like a photo your grandfather kept in his Bible.
The message is clear even before the first note: this is a song about movement, about leaving one place and heading somewhere new with everything you own tied on the roof. For an artist returning after time away from the spotlight, the metaphor practically writes itself. Singlet has always been strongest in that warm space between highlife melody and Afrobeats bounce — the space that made “Playman” a radio favourite — and the Afro-fusion tag on “Traveller” tells you he is keeping that road open rather than chasing whatever TikTok sound is trending this week. Wise man. Trends expire faster than bread.
Why “Traveller” Matters Right Now
December is coming, and in Ghana that means one thing: everybody is a traveller. Diaspora people are booking flights home, Accra people are planning trips to the village, Kumasi people are pretending they are not going to Accra for the parties, and Takoradi people are already preparing beach plans. A song called “Traveller” at the end of October is perfect timing. It can sit on the road-trip playlist from Kotoka arrivals to the Cape Coast highway.
It also matters for the bigger story of Ghanaian music. Not every important voice is a headline act with a stadium show. Some are the hook masters who carried other people’s records, built a loyal following in their home region and kept showing up. Singlet’s return is a reminder that the Western Region has plenty of talent waiting for the national spotlight — and that a good song can still travel far without a big label behind it. As highlife-rooted records like Ofori Amponsah’s ‘Jane (Remix)’ keep proving, the old-school melody lovers are still here, and they are hungry. Singlet, welcome back. Drive carefully.
